Fiberoptics Technology also supplies fused doped silica fiber with an NA of .22 or .37 for applications that require lower attenuation and response to U.V. (200-400nm) and IR (1.6-2.3um). Our PMMA (Plastic) fiber (NA .5) is a great alternative to glass for low heat applications. Melt resistant to 70°C. * Larger diameters are available… but they are not flexible. We call these fibers “Rods”.
Our newest offering is fiber made without the use of lead. While all fiber products we produce are in compliance with RoHS directives, the material manufacturing process is more friendly, and the resulting fiber has a slightly better response at the blue end of the spectrum.

While we consider raw fiber to be standard product, many customizing options are available (packaging, bundle size and length). When raw fiber is sold, the product is typically manufactured per the customer’s specification.
