has been certified to ISO9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 standards. The dual certification was awarded after completion of a Stage Two audit conducted by SAI Global, headquartered in Toronto Canada.

Sep 2, 2010 FTI announces the addition of Rapid Light Guide Prototyping service (MPS).
This new group, which includes FTI’s most experienced staff members, focuses exclusively on the design and production of OEM medical components, and offers medical OEMs a new, extremely fast design and build service for small quantities of modified “standard” designs at reasonable cost.

Aug 27, 2010 FTI begins manufacture of LED light source.
On August 27, 2010 the first internally generated inventory of the company’s medically approved LED light source was logged in, formally marking the start of electronic manufacturing at FTI.

Dec 1, 2009 FTI announces the launch of a high power LED light engine for large active diameter industrial applications.
The patent pending device will be certified by ETL under the UL lab/industrial protocol, and will be CE certified. The unit will be manufactured at the company’s new electronic assembly facility in Pomfret CT beginning in April 2010. FTI began designing and manufacturing light source products in 2004.

Nov 13, 2009 FTI announces the addition of an electronic assembly cell to their manufacturing capability.
On November 1, 2009 management formally approved a plan to add the cell at its existing corporate facility in Pomfret Connecticut. The change will add a capability important to some of its customers, and allow the company to control production of its new patent pending LED light source. The new cell will also round out the company’s technical competence, which has always included electronic engineering and design, but not manufacture or assembly.

Jul 15, 2009 FTI announces the launch of a high power White LED light engine for medical and industrial applications.
The patent pending device will be certified under the UL medical protocol 2026-01-02-03, and will be CE certified. This will be the first FDA approved light source for medical applications in FTI’s portfolio. FTI began designing and manufacturing light source products in 2004.

Jun 5, 2009 FTI announces the hire of Walter Seagrave.
Walt Seagrave joined the sales and marketing team at Fiberoptics Technology on May 4, 2009. After completing his orientation, Walter will assume the responsibility of OEM Sales Engineer, concentrating on industrial markets effective June 9, 2009.

Feb 21, 2008 FTI announces the introduction of an improved Fiberscopes.
The new technology includes an increase in pixel count from 10K to 17K, a new articulation system, and integrated C mount adapter at the eyepiece. The combination of enhancements allows the company to offer a scope equal in quality to the highest priced models in the market, for 40-60% less.

Feb 11, 2008 FTI announces the launch of an RGB LED light engine for commercial and industrial applications.
“This lamp technology is interesting in two regards: The product is less expensive than most high power sources in the current market, and it is packaged with a user-friendly software interface, giving the user complete control over performance”, said Steve Giamundo, the company’s VP of Sales and Marketing.

Aug 14, 2007 FTI announces the addition of pre-populated StarscapeTM star ceiling system “Tiles”.
“The use of these 2x2 ceiling tiles reduces installation labor 87%, maintains the random star effect, and eliminates the need for light source storage, as the main source of light is a local LED on each tile”, said Zack Morin, the company’s application Sales Engineer.

Aug 14, 2007 FTI announces the addition of pre-made and stocked StarscapeTM star ceiling system “kits”.
Smaller, standard stocked Starscape kits provide the same quality and realistic night sky as the company’s traditional system, but prepackaged and stocked in volume for smaller spaces and budgets.
